Tips to Generate Website Traffic to Your Website

Like most other website owners, I constantly tried to effectively find out how to generate website traffic. In the over-hyped world of internet marketing, learning how to successfully increase traffic required buying the "secrets the pros don't want us to know" and/or buying the "simple-and-easy-to-do" guides, courses and programs (only to find out that they're NOT so "simple-and-easy-to-do")!

I continue to use SEO (search engine optimization) with some success. But, SEO is time consuming and the search engines where I seek the high rankings change their rules regularly. My site contains pages that are highly ranked in Google. But, it took a long time and Google changes whenever they choose. And, sometimes, when they do, my rankings slip no matter what I do. So, my SEO activities get me ranked which gets me traffic. But, when Google and other search engines randomly change their 'algorithms,' their ranking hierarchies change also. (By the way, it doesn't help to be an expert in SEO and algorithms because even the 'experts' lose rankings during changes, especially if they used 'tricks.')

For me, SEO does build gradual website traffic. Since I do it myself, it doesn't cost me any money. But, it does take time. I've gotten much better and faster at it over time. But, it still requires a great deal of my time to research, write and to publish the content. Also, to continue to rank well in competitive niches requires investing in buying links, special software, plugins, content generators, etc. Pay-Per-Click advertising is very popular. It is especially good for targeted website traffic when done correctly. PPC is one of the most targeted ways to get website traffic. Done right, you can set up a PPC campaign in minutes and have high-quality traffic come to your site almost instantly. Unfortunately, PPC advertising has become very, very competitive and very, very expensive.

Of course, both, Google Adwords and Google Adsense can be very profitable. But, the random changes of Google can 'de-value' your content overnight if it isn't done right. There are many effective methods to generate website traffic. Methods such as article marketing, email marketing, ebook marketing, forum marketing, etc. are very good methods. My experience continues to be that when I buy traffic, I must make sure that I'm buying targeted traffic. My experiences with PPC and SEO clearly demonstrate to me that there are effective traffic building strategies that work and that don't require learning "secrets" or "tricks." Also, my research experiences on the internet have shown me that all I need to do is to be clear about what I'm looking for, and, I will find it. For example, the perfect website traffic generator should:

Get traffic as fast as PPC
Provide the same targeted traffic as PPC
And the method should, preferably, be scalable

For me, learning how to generate website traffic successfully is worth a lot. I don't mind buying traffic if I know that the traffic is targeted and guaranteed. I don't think that I should have to buy "tricky secrets that the pros don't want me to know."

Kalem Aquil learned successful website techniques through trial and error and a lot of money, a whole lot of money. He dispenses his learned techniques through his websites, blogs, newsletters and words (he talks a lot). As a rule, he knows what he's talking (and writing) about. He dispenses his help in simple marketing ideas and strategies.
